120 Tonne Excavator- Welcome addition

MC Earthmoving welcomes this 120 tonne Hitachi excavator to its existing fleet. This excavator was acquired from the iron ore mines in Western Australia. The recent mining crisis had temporarily terminated the machines career, leaving it without a job and in a state of depression.

However, Maw Civil Earthmoving decided to offer the machine a new contract and a new start to its career.

After agreeing to terms, it was transported by truck from Derby WA to Fremantle, whereby it had enough of the roads and jumped on a ship and thus a more scenic route to Melbourne Docks.

This picture is of the excavator being taken from the Melbourne Docks, to its new home at a Quarry in Tynong Victoria, where it has been engaged to help with the stripping of the overburden in preparing the site for a quarry.

Last reports indicated the machine, after a little difficulty acclimatising to the colder weather of Victoria is now overjoyed at its new surroundings. The machines massive seven-metre bucket enables it to move up to 5500m cubic metres of overburden per day. Needless to say our other smaller excavators are green with envy.
